Who are we?

AN EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP.

EMBRACING HISTORIC CHRISTIAN TEACHING.

All Protestant churches ultimately trace their heritage back to the historic teachings of the Reformation. Here at Hope Community we align ourselves with the teachings of the Lutheran Reformation, due to the clarity with which they help us understand God’s Word. Specifically, we are affiliated with the Church of the Lutheran Brethren of America, headquartered in Fergus Falls, MN (www.clba.org).

To be Lutheran simply means that we accept the Scriptural truths that inspired the Reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century and led to a renewed focus on the proper distinction between God's Law & Gospel. As a result we uphold an extravagant and mysterious view of God's love -- that mankind is forgiven of sin and gifted with Jesus' righteousness purely by God's grace through faith alone, apart from works. We also believe that God is actively working through three main means of grace: (1) His Word, as well as saving and sustaining sinful men, women and children through (2) Baptism & the (3) Lord's Supper.
