Our Pastor

A northern New Jersey native, Pastor Andrew Foss started as lead pastor here in April 2012 after serving as interim pastor of 59th Street LBC in Brooklyn, NY and nearly 6 years as the Bible and Worldview instructor at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls, MN. He's a 2008 graduate of the Lutheran Brethren Seminary, and plans on continuing his education sometime in the near future at Knox Theological Seminary.

In his downtime he enjoys surfcasting the shorelines up and down the east coast, playing golf, basketball, and volleyball, as well as reading books authored by his intellectual mentors and theological soul-mates: Martin Luther, C.S. Lewis, Gerhard Forde, Edmund Clowney, Timothy Keller, Tullian Tchividjian, Paul Tripp and others. He enjoys vintage furniture picking -- both restoring and repurposing older pieces. He loves all things Marvel comics, Star Wars & Harry Potter, 80’s music, and he's a diehard New York Yankees fan. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially his 11 precious nieces and nephews. He's passionately devoted to seeing people set free by the amazing power of God’s grace, so in addition to pastoring Hope Community he's a conference speaker and founding Board member of Fifth Act Church Planting!
